Your avatar is your ideal, average client who is happy to do business with you and sees you as an exact match for the problem they want solved.
The reason why you build an avatar is that the clearer you are able to articulate who you want to attract, the easier it is to position yourself through your online marketing to find them. If you have them in mind, it means you are thinking of them, and when they find you, they will know you are EXACTLY what they are looking for.
This is the time to get really specific about who you want to attract. The more specific you are, the more likely you are going to attract your ideal client. So, who is your ideal client?
Write down a real description: their age, gender, likes, dislikes. Pretend they are sitting opposite you and they are telling you about themselves.
What would they say?
What is causing them pain?
What is their biggest problem?
What could you give them that would not only solve their problem but deliver their biggest desire?
What do they fear?
What makes them mad?
What worries them?
What do they want?
What is that they are REALLY, secretly after?
Where do they congregate?
What would it mean for them to get their heart’s desire?
What is their name?
If you wanted me to pick them out from a crowd, what would you tell me to look for?
What do they do for a living?
What other identifying traits do they have?
How would you speak with them – casually, formally, in industry jargon?
The power in your hands
Imagine the power of having a clear idea of your ideal client. You will still attract clients who do not fit this description and that’s okay. You can choose to work with them regardless. The great thing about having your avatar clear in your head for your business is that when they come along, you will be the EXACT match for their problems. You will know them and they will trust you.
Like your big “why”, revisit this often. Is this still your ideal client? Are you still attracting them? What might need to change or be tweaked to get even better results?
