I love finding new ways to use technology in my personal or professional life, and proudly wear the badge of ‘nerd’ as a result.
However, I really jump for joy when I find a way to help others use that same technology to meet their goals.
And just recently I found a neat little hack to help people create bullet point lists (kind of) in Google Keep which has made me very excited!
Using Bullet Points (Kind of) in Google Keep
I know that one of the main sticking points many people have with Google Keep is its lack of list making capabilities. Oh sure, there’s the ability to add check (tick) boxes to a list but that’s it.
There’s apparently no way to create bulleted lists and this can be very disappointing to people.
The symbols to use
So what is this hack I hear you ask? Well it relies on using a couple of different types of symbols.
The first option is the dash (-) and the second option is the asterisk or star (*). When you use either of these symbols, Keep instantly recognises you’re creating a list and automatically adds the dash or star to the next line when you select enter / return.
These symbols work best when you’re using a desktop keyboard of course, but it is still possible to create a bulleted list (kind of) via the Keep mobile app.
So there you have it, a simple way to create a type of bulleted list in Google Keep!
